2 Week Countdown to Opening Night

Hi!
Patrick Scott here.

Irene Ange and I are in a frenzy readying new work for the Night Vision: Contemporary Illuminated Sculpture show. Meanwhile, Bruce Shapiro is back in Minnesota installing a large piece of sculpture.

2 weeks to Opening Night (1-16-09) at the Phantom Gallery in Santa Rosa, CA.
The Wiggle Guy shown above is functioning but sucking up many hours of trying to get the stepper motor to talk to the microcontroller. Oh boy. I wish Bruce was in town. Lighting, shiny stainless salvage and motion control. This piece shook crack a few people up. I'll be posting a video on YouTube today.

Here's another new piece that is up and running.

The Large Illuminated Array, working title Passion Fruit, named for the sweet fruit smell coming from the barrels. It works fine. Just needs some programming tweaking.

Programmable LED array with recycled industrial food barrels create a light room.
Colors change and fade.
Motion sensor activates response to viewer's presence.
Pretty groovy.
More to come.
Back to work.
Thanks for checking in.
You're invited to the Opening Party!
Friday 1-16-08, 6-9 pm
519 Mendocino at 7th st.

I can't wait to see how you transform the PHANTOM GALLERY with your exicting exhbition NIGHT VISION. IT has been amazing to see all the work you have done to install the art, especially the glass forming machanical wonder! I also appreciate all the community assistance you have garnered for putting this together.. people do like to participate! I am looking forward to the opening Friday night at 519 Mendocino Avenue.
